Father shares last words as daughter dies by suicide

KARACHI:

A teenage girl was found dead by hanging at her home in Lyari's Agra Taj Colony, apparently distraught over her father not arranging a mobile phone package.

According to Additional SHO Zulfiqar of Kalri Police Station, the incident occurred at a house on Agra Taj, street no 23. The girl, identified as 15-year-old Hadiya, was taken to Civil Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Hadiya's father, Rafiq, told police during initial questioning that his daughter had requested him to arrange a mobile phone package. "I told her I would do it later and left the house. Shortly after, my wife also went out to buy vegetables, and when she returned, she found Hadiya hanging from a ceiling hook with a dupatta around her neck," he said. The Additional SHO stated that police suspect Hadiya took her own life due to distress over the mobile phone package. Legal procedures were completed, and the body was handed over to her family. Police investigations are ongoing.
