HYDERABAD:

The death toll from the LPG cylinder explosion at a house in Larkana district on December 16 has risen to four with the passing of 10-year-old Jawad Rind in a Karachi hospital on Thursday. Two other children remain in critical condition, receiving life-saving treatment in Karachi.

The other deceased include Yasmeen Mugheri, Sajida Rind, and Ghulam Mustafa Mugheri, a child. The blast occurred at the residence of Mukhtiar Jatoi in Lahar Colony, Larkana. Its intensity caused the collapse of roofs and walls in two adjoining homes belonging to Qurban Mugheri and Irfan Rind, resulting in additional casualties. The explosion initially killed one person and injured 14 others.

As Jawad Rind's body was brought back to Larkana, local residents expressed grief and demanded a thorough, scientific investigation into the incident. While the LPG cylinder explosion is suspected as the cause, residents are urging authorities to probe the matter carefully to prevent future tragedies.
