LAHORE:

Lahore has witnessed a significant improvement in air quality, removing it from the list of the world's most polluted cities, officials said.

Experts attributed the improvement to the successful implementation of the government's smog action plan, despite cold weather, low temperatures, and stagnant air conditions.

Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that under the policies of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, local pollution has been effectively controlled in Lahore.

She added that the multi-sectoral action plan against smog is being continuously enforced, with strict monitoring of industrial emissions, transport, and the burning of crop residues.
