Dow University awards degrees to 2,894 graduates
Female students sweep gold medals and best graduate awards in 15th convocation

The 15th convocation of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) witnessed the conferral of degrees on 2,894 graduates across MBBS, BDS, Pharm-D, DPT, and Allied Health Sciences programmes.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Nazli Hussain highlighted the importance of adaptability, continuous hard work, and a passion for lifelong learning in today's AI-driven world. She stressed that respect for human life and adherence to ethical values remain the most valuable assets in one's professional journey. "I always have positive hope and complete faith in you," she added.
The convocation, held at the Ojha Campus Cricket Ground, saw the presence of Convocation Committee Chairperson Professor Saba Sohail, Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Jahan Ara Hassan, Controller of Examinations Mohsina Zaini, Principal of Dow International Medical College Professor Uzma Bukhari, faculty members, students, and a large number of parents.
Professor Hussain reflected on Dow Medical College's 80-year legacy, calling it a testament to scholarly excellence and global recognition in medicine. She noted that Dow's graduates have historically contributed to landmark achievements-from pioneering xenotransplantation to establishing institutions like SIUT-bringing pride to Pakistan.
Urging graduates to honour their parents' sacrifices, Professor Hussain advised them to serve the nation even if they pursue higher studies abroad. She described the practical training at Civil Hospital and Dow Hospital as unparalleled and encouraged alumni to stay connected through the university's alumni portal.
The convocation ceremony featured the administration of the oath to MBBS graduates by Registrar Dr Ashar Afaq, pledging unbiased service to humanity.
