Suspect injured in CCD encounter

A suspected criminal was injured in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) police and shifted to a hospital.

According to the police, Lyallpur Town CCD In-charge Inspector Hassan Siddique Cheema and his team had set up a checkpoint near Ayub Research Board Chowk in the Factory Area.

During the checking, three suspicious men riding a motorcycle were signaled to stop.

However, instead of complying, they opened indiscriminate fire on the police. In an ensuing exchange of fire, 32-year-old Khurram Shehzad suffered a bullet injury to his leg.
