Afridi pays surprise visit to Zamung Kor

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi paid a surprise visit to Zamung Kor and the Women Crisis Centre, facilities established for orphaned and destitute girls, to personally review the services being provided and further strengthen measures for their welfare.

During the visit, the chief minister met the resident girls, listened carefully to their concerns, and issued on-the-spot directives for the immediate resolution of complaints and shortcomings to ensure no delay in redressal. He said that the care of state children is the government's constitutional, moral, and humanitarian responsibility, and no negligence would be tolerated in fulfilling this obligation.

Taking notice of the presence of girls suffering from flu at Zamung Kor, the chief minister immediately summoned doctors and ensured medical examinations on the spot to facilitate timely treatment and safeguard their health. He directed the administration to prepare meal plans in line with the girls' preferences and nutritional needs and to ensure the provision of quality, healthy food, stating that proper nutrition is the foundation of healthy growth.

The chief minister emphasized that the education, training, and overall welfare of orphaned and destitute girls are among the top priorities of the provincial government, and that all available resources would be utilized to achieve this objective. In view of the cold weather, he ordered the immediate provision of water geysers, heaters, shoes, warm clothing, and sweaters to protect the girls from the harsh winter.

Furthermore, keeping in view the mental and creative development of the girls, the chief minister directed the provision of swings, toys, a computer lab, painting materials, and other recreational items on their request, to ensure opportunities for learning and recreation in a safe and positive environment.
