5.2 magnitude earthquake reported in Karachi

Residents across the city report feeling the tremors in multiple areas

An earthquake originating 87 kilometres northwest of Karachi was recorded on Tuesday at 00:51 PST, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The tremor registered a magnitude of 5.2 at a depth of 12 kilometres, with its epicenter located at 25.52°N, 66.55°E. Residents across the city reported feeling the tremors in multiple areas.

In DHA Phase 8, people experienced noticeable tremors. PECHS residents also felt the earthquake, while those in Shah Faisal Colony reported similar shaking. Liaquatabad experienced particularly strong tremors, and the earthquake was also felt in Somaiani.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious and follow standard earthquake safety protocols, while seismologists continue to monitor the region for potential aftershocks.
