Unknown gunmen open fire inside home; one woman critically injured

ISLAMABAD:

Two women were killed and another was injured after unknown gunmen opened fire inside a house in Mohallah Rajgan within the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu Police Station on Sunday. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Police said the assailants forcibly entered the house and opened fire, critically wounding three women. As a result, Asma Bibi, wife of Aziz, aged 30, and Kausar, aged 35, died on the spot, while Saima Bibi, aged 30, sustained serious injuries.

An official said police teams rushed to the scene upon receiving information, cordoned off the area and collected forensic evidence. The bodies of the deceased and the injured woman were shifted to PIMS Hospital for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment.

Islamabad Operations SSP Qazi Ali Raza also visited the crime scene and directed officers to utilise all available resources to trace and apprehend the perpetrators at the earliest.

He ordered the formation of special investigation teams and emphasised that those responsible would be brought to justice without delay. Police have launched a search operation in the area, while investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the attack. The suspects remain at large.
