BTS member Jungkook has sparked renewed online backlash after sharing his first Instagram Story since opening his new account, with some fans linking the post to ongoing dating rumours involving aespa’s Winter.

The singer posted a masked selfie to his Instagram Stories on his newly created account, @mnijungkook. While the image itself appeared neutral, it quickly became the subject of intense scrutiny online due to its timing. The post followed messages Winter sent to fans on Bubble earlier the same day, in which she wrote: “It’s cold this weekend, so be careful not to catch a cold! Since it snowed, watch your step too!”

The proximity of the two posts led to speculation that Jungkook’s selfie was a subtle response, despite no direct reference being made. Online forums and social media platforms quickly filled with debate, with opinions sharply divided.

Some netizens criticised Jungkook’s decision to post at a time when his name has been widely discussed. 

Others dismissed the backlash as excessive, arguing that the speculation was unfounded.  Additional comments accused fans of overanalysing coincidence.

Neither Jungkook nor Winter has addressed the renewed discussion.
