Exam boards begin key appointments
.

The process to appoint permanent chairmen, board secretaries and controllers of examinations in Punjab's nine education boards has finally begun after a delay of two to three years.
All three key positions had been vacant across education boards during this period, pushing the system to the brink of collapse.
The boards were being run under an ad-hoc arrangement by junior and non-professional officers.
Following the publication of a news report in Daily Express, advertisements have now been issued inviting applications for permanent appointments in all nine boards - Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Multan, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.
Interested education officers have been asked to submit online applications by December 31, while the entire appointment process is expected to be completed by February 28.
For the post of chairman, MA or MSc qualification along with BS-19 or BS-20 is mandatory. For controller of examinations and board secretary, candidates must hold MA or MSc degrees and be in BS-18. All three appointments will be made for a tenure of three years.
