The body of a woman, estimated to be 10 days old, was recovered from bushes near Hawwa Goth, Orangi Town. Police say the woman, 65-year-old Asma, was allegedly killed by her tenants, a husband and wife, over unpaid rent.
Investigating officer Khush Nawaz Pitafi said the victim had rented a portion of her house to the couple, who failed to pay three months' rent. When the landlords confronted the tenants, a scuffle occurred several days prior, during which the woman reportedly sustained injuries that led to her death.
Afterward, the couple allegedly wrapped her body in a sack, transported it on a motorcycle, and abandoned it in bushes near Hawwa Goth. The woman had been missing for several days, prompting her family to report her disappearance to the police.
Police questioned the tenants, identified as Aamir and Kishwar, who admitted to killing their landlord over the unpaid rent. The body was recovered and transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death.
The victim's husband, Mansoor, told The Express Tribune that his wife had been missing for ten days.
