Tennis: Georges, Sanchez to face off

SEOUL: Julia Goerges and Maria-Jose Martinez Sanchez both advanced to the quarter-finals of the Korea Open in Seoul yesterday, and will meet each other in the next round. The third-seeded Goerges defeated Eleni Daniilidou of Greece 6-4, 7-5, while the sixth-seeded Martinez beat Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic 7-6, 6-2 at the Olympic Park. Meanwhile, Vera Dushevina of Russia defeated Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania 6-3, 6-1. Kazakhstan’s Galina Vokoboeva beat Czech Iveta Benesova 6-4, 6-4.
