Two women allegedly gang raped in Lahore, four suspects arrested
Case registered on the complaint of victim's mother, police making efforts to nab the remaining accused

Two women were allegedly gang raped in Lahore, police said on Saturday, adding that a case has been registered and four suspects have been taken into custody.
According to police, the incident was reported in the Sundar area, where a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of victims’ mother, Jamila Bibi, a resident of Theme Park, Lahore. The FIR names five accused — Qasim, Umair Jatt, Ali Akbar Wattoo, Zia-ur-Rehman and Ahmed Raza.
Police said the complainant stated that her daughters left home for work on December 11, 2025, at around 3:30pm and returned at approximately 9:00pm the same day. Upon returning, they informed their mother that they had been sexually assaulted.

According to the FIR, the sisters had gone to Umar Block, Theme Park, to meet acquaintances identified as Tayyab son of Bashir and Tayyab son of Mansha. The complaint alleges that another individual, Umair Jatt, was called to the location, where he allegedly began molesting the victims. When they resisted, he reportedly summoned his associates — Qasim, Ali Akbar Wattoo, Zia-ur-Rehman and Ahmed Raza.
The FIR further alleges that Umair Jatt threatened the victims with a pistol and was the first to sexually assault both sisters, after which the other accused allegedly also assaulted them. The complainant sought immediate legal action against those involved.
Taking notice of the incident, DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran directed police to arrest the suspects. Acting on the instructions of SP Sadar Division Rana Hussain Tahir, Sundar police, under the supervision of SHO Inspector Asad Iqbal, conducted an operation and arrested the accused.
Police later said that following the registration of the case, four suspects were taken into custody, while efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused. The arrested individuals are being interrogated.
SP Sadar Division Rana Hussain Tahir said investigations are in progress and all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined. He added that further developments would be shared after completion of the investigation, and that action against criminal elements is continuing across the Sadar Division.

Police also confirmed that the victims have been shifted to a hospital for medical examination, and further legal proceedings will follow after receipt of the medical reports.
The case once again highlights the prevalence of violence against women in Punjab, where at least 85 women face abuse daily, including an average of nine who are sexually assaulted, with Lahore emerging as the province’s highest-burden district.
A biannual report released by the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) shows that the first half of 2025 saw a daily average of nine sexual assault cases, 51 kidnappings, and 24 incidents of domestic violence across the province.
Lahore topped the provincial list, reporting 340 cases of sexual assault, 3,018 kidnappings, and 2,115 incidents of domestic violence. The city also recorded one of the highest numbers of honour killings during the period.
