Dutch tech education support pledged
CM praises water governance, flood management of the Netherlands

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the Netherlands Ambassador Robert-Jan Siegert have agreed to enhance Dutch support to the province in higher education, technical training, water management, education and research.
During a meeting, the chief minister welcomed the ambassador on his recent appointment and reaffirmed Punjab's commitment to advancing cooperation with the Netherlands.
A detailed discussion was held on promoting trade, investment, agriculture, water management, climate change, technological collaboration and public linkages.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz termed the presence of Dutch companies in the country a strong reflection of investors' growing confidence in Pakistan's stable economic and fiscal policies
She also appreciated the global reputation of Dutch expertise in water governance and flood management. She also expressed a desire to resume direct air connectivity.
The chief minister highlighted that Pakistan and the Netherlands share development-oriented objectives.
The Netherlands is Pakistan's second-largest European trading partner.
She said the Punjab government offers a highly conducive environment for investors.
She added that Dutch advancements in agriculture and food technology align closely with Punjab's development goals and agricultural strategy.
She underscored that partnership with the Netherlands could be transformative, especially in improving potato yields.
