The 2026 Met Gala, scheduled for May 4, 2026, will celebrate the Costume Institute’s forthcoming exhibition titled “Costume Art.” This year's event boasts an extraordinary set of co-chairs: Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour.

Beyoncé’s participation marks her first return to the Met Gala in a decade, her previous appearance being in 2016.

For Beyoncé, long hailed as a style icon, the co-chair role signals a major cultural moment and a reunion with an event where she has delivered some of her most memorable red-carpet looks. Joining her is acclaimed actress Nicole Kidman, whose elegance and red-carpet history make her a natural fit for one of fashion’s biggest nights.

Venus Williams, celebrated both for her tennis legacy and her impact on style, brings another layer of influence to the gala’s diverse leadership. And, as always, Anna Wintour will provide her long-established guidance, ensuring the gala preserves its blend of glamour, artistry and fundraising purpose.

The event’s Host Committee further expands the star power, co-chaired by fashion designer Anthony Vaccarello and actress Zoë Kravitz. An eclectic roster of members from music, film, sports and dance has already been announced, including rising pop stars, award-winning performers and cultural trailblazers, with more names expected as the event approaches.

The accompanying exhibition, “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton, will examine the profound relationship between clothing and the human body.

Exploring themes such as identity, physicality and transformation, the exhibition will be the first presented in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries. It opens to the public on May 10, 2026, and runs through January 10, 2027.

The event’s official dress code will be revealed closer to the gala date, adding to the growing anticipation.
