FAISALABAD:

Three-day annual Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flower Show 2025 on the lawns of the Faculty of Agriculture, drew large numbers of students, faculty members, and flower enthusiasts.

Organised by the Institute of Horticultural Sciences, the exhibition features a vibrant showcase of chrysanthemum varieties and ornamental plants, celebrating the colours, beauty and diversity of floriculture. The blooming displays captivated visitors, especially nature lovers.

In his message, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that flowers promote peace, love and harmony. He stressed the need to spread the "fragrance of brotherhood and tolerance" to make society a better place, adding that hatred and discrimination could be countered with patience and compassion.

FDA Director General Asif Ch remarked that modern life has left people burdened with stress and depression, and such flower exhibitions offer a refreshing escape from routine, allowing visitors to reconnect with nature.

Director Horticulture Dr Ahmad Sattar noted that the Netherlands remains the world's largest flower exporter, followed by Colombia, Kenya, Belgium and others.

He said Pakistan has significant potential to secure a share in the global floriculture market, valued at $60 billion and earn valuable foreign exchange.
