Housing scheme construction blocked
.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Tuesday halted unauthorised construction at the Hawks Melbourne Housing Scheme in Moza Garhabartha on Chak Beli Khan Road, following a joint inspection by its enforcement wing.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the action was taken on the directives of RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza after reports of illegal construction in a designated no-construction zone. The RDA Enforcement Squad, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner Cantt and officials from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), conducted a detailed site inspection and identified multiple violations of RDA regulations.
An application has been submitted to the Station House Officer of Police Station Rawat to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the Chief Executive Officer and other officials of the housing scheme for alleged violations of the Letter of Permission (LoP) and illegal advertising of plots for sale and purchase.
The enforcement team directed developers and contractors to immediately cease construction, remove heavy machinery, and comply with RDA regulations.
In a statement, DG RDA Kinza Murtaza said the authority would not tolerate illegal or unauthorised development.
