Suspected gangster killed in encounter

The ringleader of the Shah gang, wanted in 17 heinous cases, was killed during a police encounter in the area of Saddar police station. A police spokesman said a special team conducted a targeted raid in Chak No.237-RB Khaddian Warraichan to arrest the accused.

During the operation, the accused opened fire on the police, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire.

On receiving information, CCD SP Malik Tariq, Inspector Iram Raza Shah and Inspector Siddique Cheema reached the spot with additional force.

The encounter continued for nearly half an hour, during which one of the outlaws suffered critical bullet injuries and was taken into custody.

He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to the injuries on the way.
