408 shopkeepers fined for flouting official prices

KARACHI:

The city's administration has intensified its ongoing campaign against violators of official prices of essential commodities. A review meeting, chaired by Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, assessed the progress of the price-control drive.

Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Rabia Syed presented a report covering operations across all districts from November 29 to December 5. She reported that action has been taken against 31 illegal vendors operating in the Sabzi Mandi, with their businesses sealed, while 17 vendors were arrested for working without permission or registration.
