ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday arrested a man in the Tarnol area after he allegedly attempted to abduct a local technician at gunpoint.

The incident occurred after Maghrib prayer on December 5, when the complainant Burhanuddin, a resident of Noor Hospital-26 Number Chungi, submitted a written application to the police. He reported that the accused, Muhammad Ishaq, had attempted to forcibly take him away while brandishing a pistol.

According to FIR No 805/25, the complainant previously worked as a technician at Ishaq's medical store near Motorway Chowk but left due to unpaid wages. He later opened his own small shop near Noor Hospital. Burhanuddin stated that Ishaq arrived at his new shop, abused him, and demanded that he return to work.

When he refused, Ishaq allegedly drew a pistol concealed in his waistband, pressed it to his temple, dragged him out of the shop, and attempted to push him into a vehicle. Locals intervened, freed Burhanuddin, and disarmed the suspect.

The police said responding officers arrived at the scene and collected evidence, including video footage and eyewitness statements. The case was subsequently transferred to Tarnol Police Station, where the suspect was taken into custody. The FIR states that the offence falls under Sections 365 (kidnapping attempt) and 506(ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
