UAF attracts feline lovers from across Pakistan

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) hosted a cat show, drawing families, breeders, and participants from across the country.
The event — organised by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry in collaboration with the Pakistan Pet Club was held on the directives of Vice Chancellor Dr Zulfiqar Ali.
The show featured breed-wise competitions, kitten and adult categories, and face-type contests, turning the venue into a lively gathering point for pet enthusiasts.
A large number of visitors thronged the university to witness the showcase of feline beauty and diversity.
Addressing the audience, Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dr Qamar Bilal said the event aimed to promote responsible pet ownership, raise awareness about different cat breeds, and provide a platform for breeders, experts and hobbyists to engage.
He noted that such events help strengthen the relationship between society, farmers, and researchers while offering the public a refreshing break from routine life.
"The University of Agriculture is committed to agricultural excellence and the welfare of animals and livestock," he added, highlighting the institution's tradition of organizing community-focused events.
Pakistan Pet Club President Nouman Ashraf said the competition included a diverse range of breeds, including Persian, Himalayan, Siamese, Scottish Fold, and British Shorthair.
A cat poster competition was also held as part of the festivities, adding further excitement to the day-long event.
