Three booked for threatening man over extortion

Police have registered a case against three suspects accused of threatening to kill a man over a demand for extortion money.

Ishtiaq Ahmed, a resident of 36 GB, filed the complaint stating that the suspects, identified as Hasnain, Khalid and another, repeatedly demanded money over the phone. When he refused, they threatened to kill him and set his shop on fire.

The accused are reportedly members of the Bhatti gang, known for previously abducting the family of former SHO Rana Mazharul Haq, who was posted at Satiana Police Station.

Two killed in traffic accident

Two children lost their lives in separate traffic incidents in Faisalabad.

In the first incident in Chak 120 JB Ali Town, eight-year-old Shaila, daughter of Mir Shadi Khan, was playing in an empty plot outside her home when she was run over by a truck.

Shaila suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

In the second incident in Chak 258 RB, 12-year-old Ibrahim, grandson of Faqir Hussain, was playing outside his house when a wagon driver, Shahzad, accidentally ran over him while reversing.

Ibrahim was critically injured and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
