RMU grads told to uphold ethics

RAWALPINDI:

Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique on Saturday said that the real journey of a doctor begins after receiving the degree and lasts a lifetime, urging the graduating medical professionals to serve humanity with empathy and integrity.

"It is not just a profession; it is service to humanity rooted in empathy, professionalism, ethical practice and continuous learning," he added.

The minister was addressing the 15th convocation of Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) Medals and degrees were conferred upon the university's fresh graduates.

In his address, the minister said that Rawalpindi Medical University is among the select medical institutions in the country that have consistently upheld and advanced the standards of medical education. He remarked that today's graduating doctors will form the backbone of the nation's healthcare system, and that it is incumbent upon them to repay their debt to the country through their knowledge, skills, and moral conduct.
