Auditor General of Pakistan Maqbool Ahmed Gondal on Thursday took the oath of office as the Auditor General of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Chief Justice of the AJK Supreme Court Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan administered the oath.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary Finance Islam Zaib, Secretary Forests Ansar Yaqub, Secretary Sports Tahzeeb-un-Nisa, Secretary Local Government Chaudhry Imtiaz, Secretary Industries Chaudhry Abdul Rahman, Secretary Environment, Wildlife and Fisheries Aamir Mehmood Mirza, Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Qazi Inayat, Accountant General Hassan Masood, Director General Audit Saeedullah Niazi, Additional Accountant General Mir Asghar, and officers and staff of the Accountant General and Audit Office.
Speaking to some selected journalists on the occasion Chief Justice Khan said that the oath-taking was a constitutional requirement. He added that Azad Jammu and Kashmir considered itself an integral part of Pakistan and expressed confidence that a time would come when Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) would also become part of Pakistan. "That is our mission and no power on the planet can stop the people of IIOJK from joining Pakistan," he stated.
"Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, and no nation allows its jugular vein to remain under the occupation of its adversary," Chief Justice Khan concluded.
Following the oath Auditor General of Pakistan Maqbool Ahmed Gondal called on the Chief Justice AJKSC Khan at his office chamber in Supreme Court.
