Sub-registrar sacked, fake staff nabbed inside office

Sub-Registrar Imran Arshad has been suspended after Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan conducted a surprise inspection and found unauthorised individuals performing official duties inside the Sub-Registrar Office on Wednesday.

On the commissioner's recommendation, formal proceedings under the PEEDA Act have also been initiated against the suspended officer.

During the unannounced visit, four private individuals were discovered seated at official counters and engaged in government work without any authority.

The commissioner ordered their immediate arrest, and police registered FIRs against them for impersonation, obstruction of official duties, and related offences.

The crackdown follows persistent public complaints about corruption, the growing presence of touts, and private agents influencing routine operations within the office.
