Woman suffers severe burns

BAHAWALPUR:

A woman suffered burn injuries in a fire in the Uch area.

Officials in the Punjab Emergency Service said rescue staff was informed by the woman's relatives that she had not been mentally stable and had been undergoing treatment.

"At night, when the children were sleeping, she set fire to firewood lying in the yard.

While igniting it, the flames caught her clothes, causing her to suffer severe burns," they said, adding that after first aid, she was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital of Ahmedpur Sharqia.

The woman, Siyani Mai, suffered burn wounds on 80 per cent of her body.
