Major shake-up in Punjab police hierarchy

LAHORE:

The Punjab government has carried out one of its most sweeping reshuffles in recent months, transferring a large number of senior police officers — including multiple Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) — in a major administrative overhaul across the province.

In the first phase, several top-tier regional commanders were reassigned.

According to the official notification, CPO Lahore Muhammad Ayaz Saleem, a BS-20 officer, has been posted as RPO Sahiwal. RPO Faisalabad Zeeshan Asghar has been moved to DIG Welfare and Finance, while RPO Gujranwala Tayyab Hafeez Cheema has been appointed DIG Special Protection Unit (SPU).

Sohail Akhtar, Commandant of the Punjab Police Intelligence School, has been posted as the new RPO Faisalabad.

DIG Special Branch Punjab Khurram Shehzad Haider has been appointed RPO Gujranwala.
