RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Police managed to arrest two principal suspects and a woman involved in mistreating TikToker Iman and forcibly cutting her hair while filming the act.

Raids are ongoing to apprehend two other accused named in the FIR as well as additional facilitators present at the scene.

A video showing the mistreatment and forcible cutting of TikToker Eman's hair surfaced on social media a week ago. As the incident was initially believed to have occurred within the jurisdiction of Lohi Bher Police Station, Islamabad Police took three individuals into custody.

However, when the girl's video statement emerged — stating that she had been assaulted by Nazar Khan alias Arman, Sana, and others at a flat near Christian Colony in Rawalpindi during a birthday gathering — the Islamabad Police referred the case and suspects to Rawalpindi Police.

Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani took notice of the matter, following which Nasirabad Police registered a case, on the complaint of a police official, against four accused: Nazar Khan alias Arman, Anis Khan alias Durrani, Jaleel alias Mithu, Jabar Khan, along with several unidentified men and women.

TikToker Iman's statement was recorded, and an investigation revealed that Sana, Sonia, and others had invited her to the birthday celebration after her TikTok account gained popularity.

During the event, Iman remarked — despite Nazar Khan alias Arman being married — that he allegedly had relations with another woman. These comments were overheard by Arman's wife, which led to the mistreatment and the forcible cutting of Iman's hair.

It also emerged during the investigation that the suspects had taken the TikToker to a spa/flat in a private housing society, where she was harassed at gunpoint and filmed.

Rawalpindi Police later found themselves in a dilemma when it became evident that none of the three individuals handed over by Islamabad Police were directly connected to the incident. One was the father of a principal suspect, another was the brother of a different accused, and the third individual had no link whatsoever to the case. Rawalpindi Police therefore decided to first arrest the actual culprits before formally briefing senior Islamabad Police officials.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Police received intelligence that Anis and others had fled to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Utilising human intelligence and technical resources, police conducted raids in multiple areas and arrested the two principal suspects — Nazar Khan alias Arman and Anis alias Durrani — along with a woman, Sana, who is also nominated in the FIR.

Potohar SP Talha Valli said that two main suspects and facilitators involved in the serious incident have been arrested, and raids are continuing to capture the remaining accused. CPO Hamdani said that the remaining accomplices and facilitators will also be apprehended and brought before the law.
