RAWALPINDI:

A Pakistani girl was allegedly sold to a Chinese national under the pretext of marriage.

The victim's video statement has also come to light, while police have launched an investigation.

The woman accused of selling the girl and the Chinese man—whom the victim was living with in Islamabad—have mysteriously disappeared.

According to details, the girl was allegedly deceived with a fake marriage proposal and sold to Chinese nationals. She has contacted Sadiqabad police for legal action. In her video statement and application, the girl said she is a resident of Sadiqabad.

After the death of her parents and later divorce, she began living with a woman named Anaya.

According to the victim, Anaya advised her that since her parents had passed away, she would arrange her marriage to a Chinese citizen, promising a better life.

"I agreed, thinking I would get support," she said. The woman then arranged her marriage with a Chinese man who took her to E-11, Islamabad, where other Chinese individuals also visited frequently.

The victim said she later discovered she had not been married but had been sold for Rs1.7 million. "When I confronted the Chinese man, he confirmed he had paid Anaya Rs1.7 million," she alleged. She said three months had passed since the so-called marriage and she was now pregnant.

However, when she asked the Chinese citizen for money for medicine, he refused.
