Citizen, suspect killed in robbery attempt

KARACHI/JOHI:

A man, 35-year-old Abdul Hannan, was shot dead during a robbery attempt in Orangi Town on Monday morning, while enraged residents caught one of the fleeing suspects and beat him to death. The suspect's accomplice managed to escape. With this incident, the number of citizens killed in robbery-related violence in the city this year has risen to 82.

According to police, the incident occurred when armed robbers opened fire, killing the victim on the spot. As the robbers attempted to flee, residents overpowered one of them, subjected him to severe beating, and handed him over to police. He was shifted to ASH where he succumbed to injuries.
