Two suspects injured, arrested during alleged police encounters in Karachi

One incident took place in Sohrab Goth, second in Shahrayar Town

Two suspects were injured and taken into custody during alleged police encounters in different areas of Karachi, while their accomplices managed to escape.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police District East spokesperson, police signalled two suspected motorcyclists to stop near the supermarket area of Sohrab Goth. The suspects opened fire on the police, prompting a retaliatory response. One suspect was injured and arrested, while his accomplice fled.

The injured suspect has been identified as Dawlat Khan, son of Usti Khan. Police recovered weapons, ammunition, and a stolen mobile phone from his possession.

He has been transferred to the hospital for medical treatment, and a search is underway for the escaped suspect. Police are also reviewing the arrested suspect’s previous criminal record.

In a separate incident in Malir District, the spokesperson for Malir Police stated that near Road No. 12 in Shahrayar Town, Sukhan Police signalled unknown motorcyclists to stop.

Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire. Police returned fire, injuring one suspect who was subsequently arrested, while his accomplice escaped.

The injured suspect has been identified as Abdul Rehman. Police recovered a pistol, ammunition, and cash from him. The seized weapons have been sent for forensic examination, and raids are ongoing to apprehend the escaped suspect.

Police reported that the suspects were patrolling the area with the intention of committing robbery.
