Man shot dead during bird hunting
Police assure FIR registration after hours-long sit-in by relatives

A man was shot dead and another injured during a bird hunting incident at a pond in Bulri Shah Kareem taluka of Tando Muhammad Khan district on Sunday. The slain, 45-year-old Hussain Mallah, was later buried in the village Mir Muhammad Jamari graveyard following a postmortem.
Following the incident, Hussain Mallah's family staged a sit-in along Tando Muhammad Khan-Sujawal road with his body, blocking traffic for over three hours. Jumo Mallah, father of the deceased, and Ameer Mallah, his brother, alleged that an influential landlord was behind the killing and accused the police of initially refusing to register an FIR.
The protest ended after Deputy Superintendent of Police Ali Sher Shar engaged with the family, assuring them that an FIR would be lodged and all persons they wished to nominate would be included. Hussain Mallah is survived by six children. Meanwhile, the police said they arrested a suspect, identified as Nazim Mallah, from a civil hospital. Nazim had sustained multiple pellet wounds, likely from hunting.
