Cantt Board members oppose caretaker setup
.

The former elected members of the Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonments Board have approached the Supreme Court to contest the move to form a caretaker setup, on the basis of the Election Commission's order issued on November 24, which states that their term should continue till March 2026. The hearing on the said petition is expected to take place on December 2.
After the board's elected public representatives' four-year term came to an end the Military Lands and Cantonments (ML&Cs) authority ordered the submission of the nominations for the caretaker setup of the Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonments Boards.
The names to be sent for the caretaker setup include the prominent businessman Zahid Bakhtawari and former Vice President of the Chaklala Cantonment Board Malik Azhar Naeem as civilian members and Lieutenant Colonel Wali Khan and Lieutenant Colonel Shakeel as military members.
