LHCBA to hold first-ever biometric elections
.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has announced that its upcoming 2026-27 annual elections will, for the first time in the association's history, be conducted entirely through a biometric voting system.
The bar has already begun registering voters, with December 31 set as the final date for lawyers to complete their biometric verification.
LHCBA Secretary Farukh Ilyas Cheema said that only those lawyers who are verified through the biometric system will be eligible to vote in the upcoming polls. He advised members to bring their original CNICs and visit the Admin Office to complete their registration.
Cheema emphasised that the shift to a biometric system would ensure greater transparency, eliminate discrepancies, and improve the accuracy of the electoral process.
