Timber thieves attack forest guard

A group of alleged timber thieves, reportedly accompanied by women, attacked a forest guard and reclaimed seized government-owned wood in Thatha Sadiqabad, officials said.

According to authorities, forest guard Ishtiaq Ahmad and his team intercepted suspects Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Imran, and Mazhar Hussain near the 10-R Canal while they were allegedly transporting timber illegally cut from state-owned forest land.

The forest team recovered the stolen wood, but the situation quickly escalated.

The accused, joined by at least four unidentified women, reportedly assaulted Ishtiaq Ahmad, forcibly took back the timber, and issued threats against the officials. Police have registered a case against Abdul Rasheed, Imran, Mazhar, and the unknown women on the complaint of the forest guard.
