Motorcycle snatchers flee, open fire during police chase

Two minor children were killed after armed bandits opened indiscriminate fire during a chase in the Bhong area, where a renewed wave of criminal activity has left residents living in fear. The tragic deaths sparked widespread grief, with the entire locality mourning the loss of the young victims.

According to sources, the incident occurred in Kotla Jaffar Lal, a suburb of Sadiqabad, where armed robbers snatched a motorcycle from a man identified as Ajmal. As the suspects attempted to flee, the victim promptly alerted members of his community as well as the police.

Local residents, along with police teams, immediately began chasing the fleeing robbers. During the pursuit, the armed suspects opened fire, and two children belonging to a man named Malik Hanif were fatally hit by the bullets. The shocking incident caused panic and deep anguish throughout the area.

A police spokesperson said that Bhong Circle police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the suspects. District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Sammo took strict notice of the incident, directing police teams to arrest the culprits at all costs and bring the killers of the two children to justice. Police officials added that all available resources were being utilised to trace the bandits, expressing hope that significant progress in the case would be achieved soon.
