LAHORE:

A US-Pakistani woman has accused her former husband of sexually assaulting her in the Defence area, prompting police to register a case and launch a manhunt.

The complainant.filed an FIR against her ex-husband, Jehanzaib, alleging that he had raped her after misleading her about the status of their marriage.

According to the FIR, Jehanzaib had married the complainant but had been compelled to surrender his US citizenship due to involvement in a criminal case abroad. The woman told the police that during a quarrel, the suspect had submitted a divorce document to the local union council without informing her.

She claimed that while she was in the United States, Jehanzaib sent her the divorce deed with a back-dated entry, indicating that he had falsified the documents.

Despite the divorce, the complainant alleged, Jehanzaib subjected her to "unlawful sexual exploitation." Police confirmed that a search for the suspect was ongoing.
