PESHAWAR:

The K-P Assembly was informed on Tuesday that the tourist belt of Galiyat supplies up to 500,000 gallons of water daily to Murree, yet K-P has been left with outstanding dues amounting to Rs630 million in return.

A committee report presented in the House warned that the province's rights were being eroded and urged the government to intervene decisively to recover the arrears.

The report, tabled by treasury MPA Mian Sharafat, sparked sharp criticism within the committee.

Ahmad Kundi said the provincial government "makes grand claims" about defending K-P's rights but "retreats from its position when the moment arrives to demand them".
