PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has announced that the provincial government has institutionalized a merit-based and transparent recruitment system, effectively ending decades of political favoritism in public sector hiring. He made the remarks during a ceremony at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, where appointment orders were distributed to newly recruited teachers.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the recruitment of new teachers is a clear demonstration that competence and merit now determine selection in the province. Describing teachers as the "spiritual parents" of society, he stressed that the future of millions of children depends on their dedication and skills. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to restructuring the education system on the principles of merit, justice, and integrity, adding that concrete steps are being taken to achieve this goal.

Congratulating the newly appointed teachers, CM Afridi highlighted that every individual at the ceremony reached this stage purely through merit, competence, and hard work. "The culture of recommendations has been eliminated, and transparency has been ensured in the recruitment process," he asserted. He also pointed out that the presence of candidates from diverse political backgrounds among the successful applicants proves that no interference influenced the hiring process.

"Aligned with the vision of PTI founding Chairman Imran Khan, the provincial government is strengthening merit, fairness, and transparency across all sectors," he said, warning that any complaints regarding deviation from merit or transparency would be met with strict and exemplary action against responsible officials.

Emphasizing the critical role of teachers in shaping society, the Chief Minister said, "Today's classrooms hold the future leadership of the province and the country.

Competent and dedicated teachers are essential for building a strong nation." He highlighted that the government is investing in professional development, modern curriculum, school improvement, and essential facilities to ensure quality education for all.
