Salon worker harassed, tortured

ISLAMABAD:

In yet another act of violent abuse, a female employee was allegedly assaulted inside a massage centre from the Lohi Bher area of the federal capital on Monday and had her hair forcibly shaved off.

Sources said that the victim had been employed at the same establishment, where the owners and certain allegedly influential individuals subjected her to physical violence for reasons that remain undisclosed. During the ordeal, the young woman was also subjected to severe harassment and blackmail.

Upon learning of the incident, the Islamabad Operations SSP took immediate cognisance and directed the local police to undertake decisive action. Acting promptly, the police conducted a raid and arrested five suspects, including two women. Police sources confirmed that all staff members of the salon have been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities further state that the victim is undergoing a medical examination, and appropriate legal charges will be incorporated once the nature and extent of her injuries have been formally assessed.

The police have underscored their commitment to securing the maximum penalty permissible under the law for those involved, noting that all available evidence is being meticulously collected.
