Fears stemming from the possible privatization of the PIA have increased uncertainty among employees, and incidents of staff disappearing overseas continue.
Senior flight purser Asif Najam, who arrived in Canada on November 16 aboard a PIA flight from Lahore, reportedly disappeared from his hotel.
He was scheduled to return to Lahore on November 19. The flight departed without him. Several PIA employees have previously gone missing abroad under similar circumstances.
The PIA spokesperson said departmental action will be taken against the staffer.
