Five terrorists killed in Bannu IBO

Outlaws took two civilians hostage in their attempt to flee, later they shot the civilians dead on their resistance

Security forces killed five terrorists during an operation in Domail, Hilal Chowk area of Bannu district. During the exchange of fire two civilians also lost their lives. According to the Public Relations Department of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), terrorists opened fire on the CTD's armoured personnel carrier (APC) during an intelligence-based operation.

In response, CTD personnel and Bannu District Police engaged the terrorists, killing two of them on the spot. The remaining three took refuge in a nearby house and held two locals hostage. Upon resistance, the terrorists killed the hostages.

Upon receiving information about the incident, CTD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams, reinforced personnel from Bannu Police. Other security forces also reached the scene. A prolonged eight-hour gunfight ensued, ending with all remaining terrorists were gunned down.

Following the operation, the security forces found the bodies of five terrorists. One of them was identified as Rasool, also known as Commander Ariana, while authorities are working to confirm the identities of others. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists.

Residents of the area praised the security forces for their operation, describing it as retribution for the loss of innocent lives. Locals also reaffirmed their trust in law enforcement agencies and expressed their commitment to stand alongside security forces until terrorism is completely eliminated in the region.
