LHC seeks clarity on chowkidar appointments
.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the advocate general Punjab, the attorney general for Pakistan and the ECP to interpret key constitutional questions arising from appointments of chowkidars made during the caretaker government in Pakpattan's Education Authority.
Justice Shahid Karim passed the order while hearing a petition filed by a disabled citizen, Muhammad Sajid, represented by Advocate Mian Dawood.
The court noted that the petition raises significant questions about the role and authority of caretaker governments.
