Man accused of poisoning wife to death

A man allegedly killed his wife by poisoning her.

Police took the body into custody fo post-mortem and registered a case.

According to the police, Shrafat Ali, a resident of New Samundri, stated in the FIR that his 23-year-old sister Sajida Bibi had been married to Rashid for four years. A day earlier, Sajida had a dispute at home with her husband, co-wife Iram, and sister-in-law Shabana.

In retaliation, Rashid, along with Shabana and his first wife, allegedly gave Sajida poisonous pills. Her condition deteriorated, and she was admitted to a hospital, where she died.

Upon receiving information, Sub-Inspector Barkat Ali from Samundri City Police Station took the body into custody, completed legal formalities and handed it over to the family. A case has been registered against the three nominated suspects, and efforts were under way to arrest them.
