RAWALPINDI:

Approval has been granted for a province-wide census of all primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, with a detailed schedule for the exercise now officially issued. The school census will be conducted until November 22.

For administrative convenience, schools have been categorised into three separate lists - two comprising 14 schools each and one including 13 schools. The first phase of the census will run from November 14 to 16, the second from November 17 to 19, and the third from November 20 to 22.

In the Rawalpindi Division - covering the districts of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree, and Talagang - the census will be carried out from November 20 to 22. In the Lahore Division and its adjoining districts, the exercise will take place from November 14 to 16, while the Faisalabad Division and southern Punjab districts will conduct the census between November 17 and 19.

The census will document comprehensive data on student enrolment - both male and female - as well as the number of teaching and non-teaching staff, including watchmen and sanitary workers. Details of all vacant posts will also be recorded separately.

Furthermore, the survey will assess the availability of essential facilities in government schools.
