MAILSI:

The health department has launched the anti-measles and rubella vaccination campaign in Mailsi, setting a target to vaccinate over 150,000 children aged six months to five years, officials said on Wednesday.

The health authorities said the national immunisation campaign has formally begun across the district, aiming to protect children from life-threatening diseases.

A total of 458,575 children in this age group will be vaccinated during the drive.

The campaign will continue until November 29, with 121 vaccination teams deployed across Tehsil Mailsi.

These teams are visiting homes, streets, neighbourhoods, and educational institutions to ensure that 150,029 children receive the measles and rubella vaccine and that no child is left unprotected.

Deputy District Health Officer Dr Nasir Usmani urged parents to fully cooperate with vaccination teams.

He warned that measles and rubella pose serious risks to children's health and future, making timely vaccination essential.
