Dolphin Squad personnel arrested seven suspects in financial crimes, including fraud and forged cheques, from various parts of the city. The arrests were made during targeted snap checks using the police mobile app at key locations, including Chungi Amar Sadhu, Minar-e-Pakistan, and Thokar Niaz Baig.
The suspects, including Ahmed, Ghulam Hussain, Asim, Sharafat, Zahid and Altaf, had been evading arrest for two to three years. The police said the men were wanted in multiple inter-district cases across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Mianwali. Following the arrests, the suspects were handed over to relevant police stations for investigation and legal proceedings. SP Akhtar Nawaz said the squad continues to focus on street crimes as well as apprehending wanted individuals.
Meanwhile, Islampura police have arrested two motorcycle thieves, seizing stolen motorbike parts and illegal weapons. The suspects, Usman and Muhammad Ali, were apprehended following a tip-off, the police said. One of the gang members reportedly stole unlocked motorcycles from various parts of the city, dismantling them at home, while the other sold them.
The police registered cases against the suspects and were investigating their crimes.
