Tribute paid to revolutionary leader

A memorial reference in honour of revolutionary labour leader Comrade Hafeez Jamal was organized at the Karachi Press Club under the auspices of the National Trade Union Federation Pakistan (NTUF). The speakers paid rich tribute to the unsung revolutionary comrade and said that Comrade Hafeez Jamal passed away on 21 October in Karachi. He was born in 1925 in the city of Bareilly, India, where he also completed his intermediate education. Before the Partition, in 1945, he joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Calcutta.

The speakers further said that Comrade Hafeez spent his entire life struggling for the rights of working people and oppressed classes, carrying within him the dream of making Pakistan a socialist state, and remained committed to ideological struggle throughout his life. Comrade Hafeez Jamal lived his entire life as an active political worker. He lived for a long period at the office of the Pakistan Socialist Party (PSP) and continued to educate and train young comrades.
