CM calls for urgent action on diabetes spread
Insulin kits are being delivered to the doorsteps of children suffering from Type-1 diabetes

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the rising prevalence of diabetes in Pakistan is alarming and demands a more effective and urgent response.
She said in her message on World Diabetes Day that the disease is a dangerous and silent enemy that can be controlled through care, awareness and a disciplined lifestyle.
She emphasised that health is a fundamental right of every citizen and the Punjab government is committed to delivering this right to every doorstep in the province.
The chief minister for the first time in history, insulin kits are being delivered to the doorsteps of children suffering from Type-1 diabetes.
She added that the government continues to ensure provision of free medicines in all public sector hospitals so that no patient bears any financial burden on getting medical treatment. She urged citizens to become guardians of their own health by adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasised that balanced nutrition, regular exercise and consistent monitoring of blood sugar levels are vital for preventing diabetes.
