Turkiye rejects claims of hand in Delhi blast

.

Turkiye on Thursday rejected reports by certain Indian media outlets alleging Ankara's involvement in the car blast near Delhi's Red Fort earlier this week, and urged the people not to give any credence to such baseless claims.

Monday's explosion in the Indian capital initially killed eight people and injured over 20, with the toll later rising to 12. Indian authorities have classified the incident as a terror attack and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In response to media allegations, Turkiye's Directorate of Communications dismissed claims that Ankara had any role in radicalising sleeper cells or providing support to terrorist groups targeting India.

"Turkiye rejects acts of terror regardless of where or by whom they are committed," the statement said. "The claim that Turkiye engages in radicalisation activities targeting India or any other country is purely disinformative and lacks any factual basis."
